Endless possibilities.......

Rapid advancement in Medical technology has brought us to new horizons in the treatment of Male Infertility and Male Sexual Dysfunction. Couples experiencing years of heart-wrenching infertility are having babies. Men experiencing difficulty with organic impotence are leading active, sexually fulfilling lives. Myriads of new techniques--both medical and surgical--are opening worlds of recovery to otherwise frustrating and emotionally debilitating conditions.

....for success

With a diagnosis of azoospermia (no sperm in the ejaculate) he was told he was sterile and unable to father a biological child. However, on examination we found that his vas deferens (the tubes that carry the sperm from the testicles ) were absent yet his testis produced sperm. By combining the microsurgical procedure of epididymal sperm retrieval with in-vitro fertilization, this couple now has a beautiful 'miracle' baby.

He was young, athletic, happily married and the victim of a devastating car accident that left him paralyzed from waist down. He and his wife wanted to start a family however he was unable to produce a specimen due to neurologic damage. We were able to treat his ejaculatory dysfunction using a simple, non-surgical technique of low voltage stimulation of his seminal vesicles. He produced a semen specimen which was used for artificial insemination.

Suffering fifteen years with progressively degenerative Multiple Sclerosis, our patient was no longer able to have sexual relations. By treating him with pharmacologic injection therapy he and his wife are enjoying the resumption of their previously active sex life together. This therapy, and other medical and surgical options have brought a 98% success rate with conditions such as diabetes, vascular disease, psychogenic dysfunction and the natural decrease in sexual function that accompanies increased age.

With the right evaluation...

The best first step toward "cure" is diagnosis. Using the most current and technologically advanced evaluative tools available to date, we first thoroughly evaluate to determine the cause and extent of the patient's disorder.

Our "State-of-the-Art" office has all the latest diagnostic equipment for the most sophisticated and complete evaluation possible.

The Men's Fertility Laboratory: our well respected New York State licensed referral laboratory is on premises and provides comprehensive services including:
complete semen analysis:
concentration, count, motility, morphology (WHO and "strict criteria")
biochemical studies
sperm antibody studies
post ejaculate urine evaluation
semen processing for IUI
hormonal evaluation

New York Cryo our New York State licensed sperm bank is also on-site. We provide both short and long term storage of semen specimens (and other sources of male gametes) from patients wanting to store specimens for use with a sexually intimate partner.

We also have available:

Color Duplex Ultrasound for evaluation of penile blood flow (erectile dysfunction) as well as scrotal blood flow (subfertility).

Nocturnal Penile Tumescence testing (NPT) for differentiation between psychogenic and organic erectile dysfunction)

Cavernosometry/Cavernosography for sophisticated evaluation of penile vascular dynamics (erectile dysfunction)

Medical and Surgical options for treatment of sexual dysfunction and infertility

No-Scalpel Vasectomy Center for a safe, effective and minimally invasive method of permanent birth control

Dr. Bruce R. Gilbert is Board Certified by both the American Board of Urology and The American Board of Bioanalysis. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He holds academic appointments at Cornell University Medical College and Stony Brook University Medical School. He is also on the attending staff at several local hospitals and has many publications in the field . His practice is limited to Male Subfertility and Male Sexual Dysfunction. The Laboratory Director is Dr. Bruce R. Gilbert certified by the American Board of Bioanalysis as a High Complexity Laboratory Director.
